"Alaska's Aquatic Insects" by Kathy Hocker, Illustrator 7pm, UAS room 106.
“They're all around us: in streams, lakes, muskeg ponds, roadside ditches. They bite us and pester us, they inspire poetry and curses alike. They feed salmon and sheefish...warblers and dabblers and dippers...bats and bladderworts. Without them our aquatic (and terrestrial) ecosystems would crumble. They're aquatic insects! Come take a tour of the diversity of aquatic insects in Alaska, and learn about their strange and fascinating lives. Illustrated with Bob Armstrong's marvelous insect photos, and based research for on an
upcoming book by Bob Armstrong, Kathy Hocker, and John Hudson.
